Geotechnical & Construction Services

We provide a number of construction services including geotechnical engineering, materials testing, and engineering and inspection for commercial, industrial, municipal, residential, educational, and aviation facilities located throughout North Alabama, as well as numerous roadway and bridge projects. Our team routinely provides these services throughout the entirety of the construction process. Our on-site laboratory is AASHTO and CCRL Accredited.

Projects

The Shoppes at Redstone Square

Morell Engineering provided geotechnical engineering, site work and building construction layout and control, and CMT services for the 45,600 square-foot Publix grocery store and 14,000 square-foot retail shop. Morell Engineering also surveyed and prepared the as-building drawings for this project.

Athens High School

Athens High School consists of a 285,000 square-foot building that is situated on a 46-acre property located west of US Highway 31 in Athens, AL. Morell Engineering provided geotechnical services, construction materials testing (CMT) and surveying services for this project.

Asahi Kasei Plastics

This facility included a 123,000 square-foot building, a new rail yard, a material and container storage area, loading docks, and parking and drive areas. Morell Engineering provided geotechnical, surveying, and CMT services for this project.

Shape Corporation

Shape Corporation constructed a new manufacturing facility on a 35-acre property located north of Roy Long Road in Athens, Alabama. This facility included a 110,000 square-foot building, loading docks, and parking and drive areas. Morell Engineering provided geotechnical, surveying, and CMT services for this project.

Athens Recreation Center

Morell Engineering provided geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing (CMT) services for this project.

Toyota Boshoku

Morell Engineering provided surveying, civil design, geotechnical engineering, construction layout, and construction materials testing (CMT) services for this project.

Old Highway 20 Bridge Replacement

Morell Engineering provided surveying, civil design, geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing (CMT) and Construction, Engineering, and Inspection (CE&I) services for this project. CMT services were performed during site grading, deep foundation installation, bridge construction, and paving.
